The advanced search will search through the contents of all transcribed records.

From the dropdown list below, choose the type of information you want to search (e.g. surname, town, regiment), and then enter the value you want to find.

+ A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in each row that is returned.
- A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in any of the rows that are returned.
By default (when neither + nor - is specified) the word is optional.
* The asterisk serves as a final wildcard. e.g. tho* will match both Thomas and Thos.
" A phrase that is enclosed within double quote (") characters matches only rows that contain the phrase literally, as it was typed.
